Kitties!!!!

Nun ja, heute keine Seife...aber dafür Katzenbilder. Habe gerade unsere Katzenbilder durchgesehen und dachte mir: Wäre es nicht schön, Katze zu sein, besonders bei uns zu Hause, wo die Katzen eindeutig die Herrschaft übernommen haben! Ein Leben voller Entspannung und Abenteuer zu gleich und mit voll automatischen Dosenöffnern!

Well, no soap today...but some cat pictures. I was just looking at those fotos and thought: Wouldn't it be nice to be a cat...preferably at our house where cats rule! A life full of leisure, adventure and with fully automated can openers!

Putzseife - Household & Laundry Soap

Habe ich fast vergessen, habe vor ein paar Wochen meine erste Putzseife gemacht...hatte einige Zeit Seifenreste gesammelt und sie dann einer guten Verwendung zugeführt.
Ohne viele Worte, jetzt ein paar Bilder:

I almost forgot, made my first Household & Laundry Soap a couple of weeks ago...I have been saving up soap scraps for quite some time and put them to good use.

Hier ist die Seife nach dem ersten Aussalzen gerade aus dem Topf...puh, braunes Wasser!

Just got the soap out of the pot after adding salt for the first time...phew, brown water!

Nach 4(!) weiteren Aussalzgängen ist die Seife fast wieder weiß!
After adding salt 4(!) more times...low and behold...almost white again!

Genug Seife bis an mein Lebensende...reinigt wunderbar Teppiche, Wäsche, besonders als Vorbehandlung der Knaller!
Enough soap to last me a lifetime...works wonders in cleaning carpets, laudry, especially as a pre-wash treatment!

Ratespiel - Guessing Game

Bin gerade so glücklich über die Farbe der Seife, weil sie endlich mal genauso geworden ist, wie ich es haben wollte...Yippee!

Kann jemand von Euch sich denken, was das für eine Seife ist? Sollte nicht so schwer sein;)

Der erste, der's errät kann sich eine der Seifen von meinem Blog aussuchen, sofern sie noch da ist.

Takara - "Das Seidenschweinchen"

Dieses Rezept geistert schon einige Zeit durch deutsche Seifenforen (Im Original glaube ich von mini69) und alle, die’s ausprobiert haben, schienen begeistert zu sein. Einerseits gibt dieses Schmalz-lastige Rezept eine gute, rückfettende Seife, andererseits auch eine wunderschöne, weiße Seife ohne Zugabe von Titandioxid.
Ich war anfangs sehr skeptisch was Schmalz in der Seife angeht, weil ich seit über 20 Jahren Vegetarierin bin, und mir nicht vorstellen konnte, Schmalz zu verseifen...aber ich bin überzeugt: Schmalz macht tolle Seifen!
Die Mengen habe ich ein wenig angepasst, damit ich die Standard 250 Gramm Packungen Schmalz benutzen konnte, die es in jedem Supermarkt hier zu kaufen gibt.

This recipe has been going around German soaper circles for quite some time and everybody who tried it, was raving about it. On the one hand, because this lard-heavy recipe makes for a good moisturizering soap and on the other hand, because you get a beautiful, white soap without adding Titanium dioxide. By the way, if you translate the name of the soap it means something like "Silky Piglet"...

I used to be very sceptical about lard in soap because I’ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years and could not imagine using lard in soap...but I’m convinced: It makes nice soaps!

I adjusted the recipe a little bit so that I could use the standard 250g package which is sold in every supermarket around here.

Das Ergebnis ist diese frisch riechende, wunderschöne, weiße Seife, bei der ich kaum abwarten kann, bis sie reif zum Anwaschen ist!!!
The result is this fresh smelling, beautiful, white soap which I can’t wait to use!!!

Apfel-Holunder / Apple-Elderflower

Ich will hier nicht zu sehr ins Detail gehen, was dieses Disaster von einer Holunder-Apfelseife angeht, nur dass ich versucht was, das ganze Ding aus dem Fenster zu werfen – das einzige was mich daran gehindert hat, war dass die Form nicht mir gehörte.

I don’t want to go into too much detail about the disaster that is my Elderflower-Apple Soap – only this: I was really tempted to throw it out of the window – what stopped me was that the soap mold didn’t belong to me.

Es hat einge Internetrecherchen gebraucht, bis ich eine ÄÖ-Mischung für den typischen Holunderduft gefunden habe. Außerdem habe ich noch eine Woche lang Alkannawurzel in Reiskeimöl eingelegt, um eine schöne Farbe für die Seife zu bekommen.

So, ich war also eigentlich gut vorbereitet, aber dann hat das PÖ Appleblossom so rumgezickt, dass der Seifenleim für den Apfelteil der Seife sich getrennt hat....and da wollte ich alles wegwerfen.

I spent some time on the internet looking for a EO mixture to get the typical Elderflower fragrance...which I found, by the way.Furthermore, I waited a week for some alkanna root to color by rice bran oil for this soap.

So, in theory I was well prepared... and then the FO Appleblossom for the apple part of the soap seized so badly that the soap separated and I was ready to throw everything out.

Irgendwie habe ich sie in die Form bekommen und habe hinterher mein Bestes getan, um sie aufzumotzen – man könnte also sagen, dass die Seife eine totale SchönheitsOP hinter sich hat:-)))

I manged to get it into the mold somehow and tried my best to make it look nice afterwards – so you could say that this soap had some massive plastic surgery:-)))

Rezept / Recipe

200g Reiskeimöl (Alkannauszug) / Ricebran oil infused with Alkanna

200g Palmöl / Palm oil

150g Babassuöl / Babassu oil

100g Papayaöl / Papaya oil

50g Wiesenschaumkrautöl / Meadowfoam oil

224g Holunderblütentee / Elderflower tea

ÄÖ-Mischung aus Bergamotte, Lavendel, Thymian, Nelke, Cassia & Bittermandel

EO mixture consisting of EOs Bergamotte, Lavender, Thyme, Clove, Cassia & Bitter Almond

PÖ / FO Appleblossom (Sensory Perfection)

Diese Schichtseife hat zwei total verschiedene Teile: Der Grüne besteht aus ganz viel Rapsöl, in dem ich Zitronenmelisse mazeriert hatte. Ein bißchen von der Melisse habe ich auch zugegeben...nur für die Optik.

Der Geruch des Öls war vor der Verseifung wirklich intensiv, aber um sicher zu sein, habe ich noch mit ÄÖs wie Zitronenmelisse, Citronella, Zitrone, Zeder, Pomeranzenschale & Zitroneneukalyptus nachgeholfen. Bisher ist der Duft noch gut wahrnehmbar, aber ich weiß nicht, ob er sich längere Zeit halten wird.

Für die andere Hälfte habe ich ein ganz anderes Rezept benutzt, mit viel Olive, Mango, Shea & Babassu. Mit dem Duft bin ich auch in eine ganz andere Richtung gegangen als bei der anderen Hälfte: Vanille Total!!!

Die PÖs Vanilla Wood und Rebel Yell sorgen für den nötigen Kick!

Was obenauf wie grünes Mica aussieht, ist in Wirklichkeit Spirulinapulver & changierendes Mica.

This layered soap has two completely different parts: The green one is made lots of rapeseed oil which I infused with lemon balm myself. I added some of the lemon balm leaves just for the effect. The smell was really intense before soaping the oil, but just to be on the safe side, I “pimped” it with lots of essential oils, such as EO Lemon balm, Citronella, Lemon, Cedarwood, Bitter orange peel & Lemon Eucalyptus. So far the fragrance is still there but I don’t know how well it will keep over time.

For the second half I used a different recipe with lots of Olive, Mango, Shea & Babassu and for a fragrance I went into the opposite direction as the other half of the soap: Totally Vanilla!!!

FOs Vanilla Wood and Rebel Yell gave it the required oomph, making it one tasty soap!

What looks like green mica on top is really spirulina powder with iridescent mica....

Etwas grüne Seifenfarbe / a little bit of green soap color

Silky Ice

Für diese Seife hatte ich mal keinen wirklichen Plan: Wollte nur Seide benutzen, mein neues, pinkfarbenes Mica und einen Lush Dupe PÖ namens Ice, Ice Brr. So hab ich einfach mal alles zusammengewürfelt, das Ergebnis ist jetzt nicht spektakulär, aber es ist immer noch ’ne nette Seife geworden...habe sie schon mal getestet, obwohl sie noch ziemlich frisch ist.

Didn’t have a real plan for this soap: I just wanted to use silk, my new pink mica, some soap balls (which I love by the way:-), and a Lush dupe FO called Ice, Ice Brr.

So I simply threw everything together...the result’s not spectacular but it’s still a nice soap...I’ve already tested it even though it’s still quite fresh.

Ach, hab ich vergessen: Habe vorher versucht, die Seifenbälle noch mit einer dünnen Schicht von schwarzem Seifenleim zu überziehen. Hat nicht so geklappt. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie man das am besten macht?

Ah, I forgot: I tried to coat the soap balls with a layer of black soap but it didn't really work. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?
