Sunday Soap No. 2 - Sonntagsseife Nr. 2

Hier kommt meine 2. Seife vom letzten Sonntag...diese hatte ich tatsächlich schon etwas länger in Planung. Im unteren Teil habe ich gemahlene Haferflocken, mitten drin und oben drauf seht ihr wieder meinen geliebten gemahlenen Mohn. Diese Seife hatte die heftigste Gelphase, die ich je gesehen habe...sie wurde wieder komplett flüssig und mein schönes Topping ist in sich zusammengefallen.

Die kleinen Seifenpfoten sind aus dem gleichen Leim gemacht, nur ohne Gelphase.

Auch diese Seife ist noch namenlos...allerdings denke ich, dass es schwieriger wird, hier 'was Passendes zu finden...

Here's the second soap I made on Sunday...this one I had actually planned for some time. I used oatmeal in the lower half, poppy seeds in between and on top. This soap had the most awesome gel phase I ever saw...it went completely liquid again and my lovely topping came crashing down.

The little soap paws are made from the same batch just without gel phase.

This soap is still namless as well...but I think this time it's more difficult to find something appropriate...

Ich habe zur Beduftung 20 ml PÖ Hafer, Milch & Honig, 10 ml Milch & Honig und 5 ml PÖ Organhain benutzt...alles von behawe. Was für ein Duft! Ich könnte jedes mal reinbeißen, wenn ich an meinem Reiferegal vorbei gehe;))

I used 20 ml of FO Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, 10 ml Milk & Honey & 5ml Orange Grove...what a smell...I could eat them up! every time I pass my curing rack, I have to take a whiff;)

125g Kokosnußöl / Coconut Oil

125g Babassuöl / Babassu Oil

85g Mangobutter / Mango Butter

25g Olivenwachs / Olive Wax

10g Reiskeimwachs / Ricebran Wax

200g Schafsmilchjoghurt /Ewe's Milk Yoghurt

Sunday Soap No. 1 - Sonntagsseife Nr. 1: Cosmic Storm

Heute zeige ich Euch nur ein paar Bilder, da ich mein Rezeptbuch irgendwie verlegt habe und nicht mehr genau weiß, was denn alles in der Seife ist...ich weiß nur noch, dass 72% Olivenöl drin sind und die kleinen Pünktchen sind zerkleinerte Malvenblätter...sie duftet nach PÖ Angel von Sensory Perfection. Einen Namen hat sie auch noch nicht, also wenn jemandem etwas einfällt...

Today I'll just show you some pictures as I've misplaced my recipe book and don't know what's in the soap exactly...I only remember it was 72% Olive Oil and the little specs are crushed mallow petals...the fragrance was Angel (Sensory Perfection). The soap doesn't have a name yet so I'm grateful for suggestions...

650g Olivenöl / Olive Oil

120g Palmkernöl / Palmkernel Oil

100g Babassuöl / Babassu Oil

30g Olivenbutter / Olive Butter

270g Wasser / Water

ÜF / SF 8%

20g Mandelmilchpulver / Almond Milk Powder

30 ml PÖ / FO Angel (Sensory Perfection)

Eine handvoll Malvenblüten / A handful of Mallow petals.

Das PÖ Angel duftet übrigens wie ein gleichnamiges Parfüm...der Duft dickt auch richtig schnell an;) Was an dieser Seife sehr erfreulich war, ist, dass sie trotz des sehr hohen Olivenölanteils richtig schnell fest wurde...da habe ich schon bei 50% Olivenöl ganz andere Sachen erlebt!

FO Angel smells like the perfume of the same name ... and accelerates trace quite a lot;) What I liked about this soap recipe is that it hardened very quickly in spite of the high Olive Oil content...I had quite different experiences with only 50% Olive Oil content!

Luau...A Dream of Flowers and Fruit

Hallo, wie versprochen gibt's nach meinem Post über häßliche Seife hier wieder etwas, das mir gefällt. Diesmal habe ich keinen großen Plan gemacht, sondern mich an den PC gesetzt, mit Soapcalc ein Rezept gemacht und dann bin ich damit in den Keller gegangen...ohne vorher einen Plan über Form, Farbe oder Duft zu haben...das ist das Ergebnis:

This time I didn't make any grand plans, just sat in front of my PC, made a recipe with Soapcalc and then went into my basement...without having decided in advance which form, color or scent to use...and is the result:

Die Seife heißt "Luau", weil ich bei Ihrem Anblick und Geruch irgendwie an Hawaii, Blumen, Tanz und ganz allgemein an ein Glücksgefühl denken muss.

The soap's called "Luau" because it somehow evokes feelings about Hawaii, flowers, dancing & general happiness in me.

20% Schmalz / Lard

20% Reiskeimöl / Ricebran Oil

15% Olivenöl / Olive Oil

10% Haselnußöl / Hazelnut Oil

5% Weizenkeimöl / Wheatgerm Oil

ÜF / SF 8%

Ach ja, habe ich fast vergessen, es ist noch mehr drin: 20 ml PÖ Love Spell and 10 ml PÖ Herbs Ex, 20g Talkum Puder, 5g Gold Mica (es ist in der Unterseite der Seife, die man auf den Fotos nicht sehen...aber man sieht auch das Mica nicht mehr;)

Oh, I almost forgot, there's more in it: 20 ml FO Love Spell and 10 ml FO Herbs Ex, 20g Talkum Powder, 5g Gold Mica (in the other side of the soap which you can't see in the photos...well, you can't see the Mica either, so no use in showing it;)

"Ugly Soap"...Why?!?!

Fragen wir uns das nicht alle mal, wenn eine Seife mal nicht so wird wie sie sein sollte? Ich hatte ein weiteres ambitioniertes Projekt - Papayasamenöl mit frischer Papaya in einer leckeren, orangefarbenen Schichtseife...die aber leider nach einer Woche in einigen Schichten die Konsistenz von Eiscreme hatte, in anderen von harter Butter. Da half nur eins: Ab in den Topf!

Don't we all ask this question sometimes when a soap doesn't turn out as it's supposed to do?

I had another ambitious project in trying out Papayaseed Oil and fresh Papaya in a delicious, orange layered soap...which had the the texture of soft ice cream in some layers and hard butter in others after a week. So, the only option: Back into the melting pot!

Dieses orangene, bräunliche Ding ist das Ergebnis...es riecht immer noch lecker nach PÖ Mango-Vanille, Pina Colada & Green Tea. Eher etwas rustikal...oder wie man Mann meinte: Schön ist die aber auch nicht!

This orangy, brownish thingy is the result...it still smells heavenly of FO Mango-Vanilla, Pina Colada & Green Tea. Rather on the simple side...or as my husband said: Well, it doesn't really look nice, does it?!

Das Rezept sieht so aus...nur 30% an fetten Fetten, aber ich glaube nicht, dass das hier das Problem war:

30% Papayasamenöl / Papaya Seed Oil

25% Kokosnußöl / Coconut Oil

20% Reiskeimöl / Ricebran Oil

20% Sesamöl / Sesame Oil

5% Olivenwachs / Olive wax

1 frische Papaya / fresh papaya

Hier noch ein paar Werke, die es bisher nicht in mein Blog geschafft haben, weil sie so gar nicht so geworden sind, wie sie geplant waren.

Zu guter Letzt eine Recycle-Seife mit "Inneren Werten": Ganz viel Schafsmilchyoghurt, PÖ Swim Nekkid machen sie zu einer Luxusseife mit cremigem Schaum...und das ganz aus Resteschnipseln! Da muss sie auch nicht schön sein;)

And last but not least a recycled soap which has lots of "Inner Values": Lots of Sheep's milk Yoghurt, FO Swim Nekkid made it into a totally creamy luxury soap...made completely out of scraps! Well, in that case it's ok for the soap to be ugly;)

PS: Morgen zeige ich Euch eine neue Seife, die noch ganz vielversprechend aussieht, aber warten wir mal ab, bis sie aus der Form ist!

PS: Tomorrow I'll show something new which looks quite promising right now...but's let's wait until it's out of the mold!

Wer häkelt braucht für den Spott nicht sorgen...

Heute will ich Euch mal 'was ganz anderes - unsinniges - zeigen. Bisher war Seife machen mein einziges kreatives Hobby, aber ich habe 'was Neues probiert...
Vielleicht sollte ich diesen Post damit beginnen zu erklären, dass Handarbeiten nie mein Ding waren, weil ich 10 Daumen zu haben scheine. In der Grundschule habe ich zwar Stricken gelernt und man hat mich gezwungen einen Teddybären zu stricken...den haben aber meine Mama und meine Oma für mich zu Ende machen müssen.

Aber so um Neujahr herum hatte ich die fixe Idee, mir einen Schal stricken zu müssen...hat auch einigermaßen geklappt, zumindest kann man ihn tragen.

Today I'd like to show you something completely different..and silly. Until now making soap was my only creative hobby but I tried something new.
Maybe I should start this post by explaining that I was never good at handicrafts because I seems to have 10 thumbs. I learned to to knit at Primary School where they made me knit a Teddy Bear...which my mum and my grandma finished for me.

But around New Year's I got it into my head to knit myself a scarf...which turned out ok, good enough to wear at least.

Jetzt hatte ich auf einmal die Idee, mir eine Mütze häkeln zu müssen...alles, was ich hatte, war pinkfarbenes und violettes Baumwollgarn. Naja, dann ging's ab zu Youtube, wo ich mir ein Video "Wie häkele ich eine Mütze" angesehen habe, weil ich zuvor noch nie irgendetwas gehäkelt hatte...noch nicht mal Topflappen;)

So, I got the idea to crochet myself a hat...but all I had was pink and violet cotton thread. I went on YouTube, looked up "How to crochet a hat", because I had never crocheted before...not even oven mits;)

Habe die Mütze an zwei Tagen fertig gehäkelt, hauptsächlich abends und in den Pausen auf der Arbeit...und als meine Kollegen die Mütze gesehen haben, finden sie zu lachen an, genauso wie mein Mann. Eine andere Freundin meinte:" Du solltest beim Seifemachen bleiben!"

Offensichtlich war die Vorstellunf von mir, die ich rote Haare habe, mit einer pink-violetten Mütze total lustig....grummel;)

I finished the hat in two days, mainly in the evenings and during breaktime at work...and when my colleagues saw the hat, they started laughing..the same as my husband. Another friend said: "You should stay with making soap!"

Apparently, the idea of me wearing my pink and violet hat...with me having red hair and all, was totally hilarious.

Letztendlich kam die Idee auf, meine Mützen zu benutzen um ein Kunstwerk zu dekorieren, das bei uns auf der Arbeit steht...wir nennen es nur "Dicker Junge auf'm Fahrrad". Der Junge wird je nach Jahreszeit, zu Weihnachten, Karneval oder zur WM entsprechend dekoriert...und jetzt hat ein ein nettes knalliges Summermützchen;)

Finally, they decided to use the hat to decorate a piece of art which we call "Fat Boy on a Bike" in our company. We decorate this statue for Christmas, Carnival, Football etc...and now it go a nice pink summer cap:)

Nunja, ich werde weiter versuchen für mich ein tragbares Mützchen zu häkeln...das 2. ist schon fast fertig und es ist nicht so knallig wie das erste;)

Allem Spot zum Trotz macht mir das Häkeln Spaß...ich kann ja nicht immer nur Seife machen!

Well, I will keep on trying making a crochet hat for myself...the second one is almost finished and it's not as colorful as the first one...

All mocking aside, I like crocheting...and I can't make soap all the time!

PS: Ich persönlich finde die Statue von dem Jungen ziemlich unheimlich...wahrscheinlich dekorieren wir ihn deshalb so gerne;)

Personally, I find this statue of the boy a bit scary...that's probably why we like decorating him so much;)

Unikat - One of a kind!

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich abends irgendwie noch Lust gehabt, eine Transparentseife zu machen, so dass ich noch um 10 Uhr angefangen habe zu sieden. Aus einer älteren Schichtseife hatte ich ein paar Einleger ausgestochen, die ich in TS eingießen wollte...das kam dabei raus:

A few days ago I felt

like making transparent soap and so I started as late as 10pm. I had some left over layered soap from which I made cut outs to embed them in the transparent soap...and that's the result:

Diese Seife hat nur eine dünne Schicht hellgrüne Transparentseife auf der Vorderseite, weil die Schichtstärken der ausgestanzten Teile unterschiedlich war.

Hier sehr ihr die andere Seite...

This soap only has a very thin layer of transparent soap on top because the layer thickness of the two cut outs was different.

Here's the flipside:

Das ist wirklich ein Unikat, weil ich auch nicht mehr genug Stücke der Schichtseife hatte, um die zwei Ausstecher zusammenzustecken.

This is truly one of a kind because I only had one piece of layered soap left big enough to fuse the two different kind of cut outs together

Wieder Vor- und Rückseite eines Einzelstückes - diesmal aber nur eine einfacher, in TS eingegossener Einleger.

Again front and back side of a single piece of soap - but this time just a simple CP cut out embedded in transparent soap.

Ungefärbte TS ein ein Gefäß mit kleinen Einlegern aus einer Milchseife gegossen und hinterher aufgeschnitten...

Uncolored transparent soap poured into a container with little embeds made from a milk based soap which I cut into pieces afterwards...

Ein Stück einer TS Schichtseife, die nicht ganz so toll geworden ist, weil ich die Einleger ziemlich blöd positioniert habe und außerdem die Schichten verlaufen sind. Das ist noch das schönste Stück;)

Part of a TS layered soap which I don't like very much because I positioned the embeds pretty studiply and the layers bled into each other. This is one of the niecer pieces;)
